ABOUT US

The Export Finance Board is the operating name of Skovaji's export credit agency and a ministerial department of the government. We derive our powers from the Export and Investment Guarantees Act 2016 and undertakes its activities in accordance with a specific consent from the Prime Minister. We were established during 2016 as part of the government reorganisation, and before early 2016 we were also the regulators of the Isotoniae Corporation.

The Boards aim is to benefit the economy by helping Skovajan companies win business, and Skovaji firms to invest overseas, by providing guarantees, insurance and reinsurance against loss. We are required by the Bank of Wesley to operate on a slightly better than break-even basis, charging exporters premiums at levels that match the perceived risks and costs in each case.

The largest part of our activities involves underwriting long term loans to support the sale of capital goods, principally for the export of services; we help Skovaji companies take part in major overseas projects such as construction. Support can be given for contracts as low as W1, but some of the projects we back go well beyond the W1 hundred mark.
